Arsenal is “extremely close” to finalizing a contract with the “next Sergio Busquets”-dubbed ideal signing.Reportedly, an agreement between Arsenal and the club to acquire a player labeled the next Sergio Busquets is imminent.

Arsenal have had a good start to the 23/24 season subsequent to their unsuccessful attempt to win the Premier League in the previous campaign.

Despite having held the lead for the majority of the season, Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City ultimately overpowered Arsenal. To bolster the caliber of Mikel Arteta’s squad, Arsenal acquired Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and David Raya at the beginning of this season.

At present, Arsenal occupy the third position in the Premier League standings, trailing leaders Liverpool by five points.

As the upcoming summer transfer window approaches, rumors indicate that Arsenal are drawing closer to acquiring a long-term target.

AS, a Spanish news outlet, reports that star midfielder Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad is in near proximity to accepting an offer to play for the North London club in the upcoming season.Arsenal reportedly expressed interest in signing the Spaniard during the transfer window this month, but Zubimendi refused to quit Sociedad in order to assist the club in their Champions League pursuit.Arsenal intends to pay Zubimendi’s release clause of €60 million via a long-term plan, according to the report.

Zubimendi was previously regarded by AS as the next Sergio Busquets, and Barcelona manager Xavi was reportedly interested in signing him to the Catalan club.Xavi reportedly views Zubimendi as the club’s long-term successor for Busquets, who departed for Inter Miami this past summer.

Nevertheless, current speculation suggests that Barcelona is no longer in contention to acquire the 24-year-old, which opens the door for Arsenal to attempt to sign Zubimendi.

Arsenal returns to Premier League action at the City Ground on the following Tuesday against Nottingham Forest.
