There is news from journalist Florian Plettenberg that Manchester United has asked if they can get Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee this month.

Now Plettenberg has said that the Red Devils have asked about the Dutch star, who has been linked to the team in recent weeks.

The leadership has high hopes for his skills and development. There were “discussions” with Bologna, but they don’t plan to sell their valuable land this month.

The former Bayern Munich player is likely to leave in the summer because his deal with the Serie A team has a €40 million release clause.

Hojlund might need a foe like Zirkzee.

United will almost certainly get a new striker this year. Anthony Martial’s contract ends at the end of the current season, so they have decided not to use his extension option.

The French player will no longer be with the team after nine years this summer. The person who will take his place is Zirkzee, who could be a threat to Rasmus Hojlund.

Hojlund has been an obvious starter all season as a rookie. He has scored three goals in his last two games, which shows that he is getting used to the Premier League.

It’s likely that the Dane will get even better as time goes on, but United would benefit from having another skilled striker. It will make sure that Hojlund can’t take his job for granted.

This season, Zirkzee has played 22 times and helped set up 12 goals. The striker, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall, likes to dribble, is good at hold-up, and can also make important passes.

The Dutchman couldn’t do well at Bayern because they already had Robert Lewandowski, but he is clearly doing well at Bologna and looks ready for a bigger move.
