Why the injury to Cristiano Ronaldo compelled Al Nassr to suspend its China tour

Due to the injury of Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr has canceled its midseason tour of China.

In late January, the Saudi team was scheduled to play two friendlies. The Riyadh Season Cup reunion between the Portuguese forward and Lionel Messi is uncertain.Al Nassr, which had already traveled to China on Sunday to participate in two friendly matches against Shanghai Shenhua and Zheijang, declared on Tuesday that the aforementioned matches would not take place.

The Saudi Arabian team acknowledged that Ronaldo’s injury, which would cause him to miss both matches, was the sole reason for canceling the contests; Chinese supporters of the superstar were left extremely disappointed.

“Unfortunately, and for circumstances beyond Al Nassr’s control, the event consisting of two matches originally scheduled for January 24th and 28th has been rescheduled to a date to be determined,” read the statement from Al Nassr.

“We arrived in Shenzen with tremendous reverence for Chinese football supporters, and in particular, Ronaldo supporters.”While the Saudi Pro League continues its midseason hiatus, clubs in the division are presently participating in friendly matches as a means of resuming competition.

As the league approaches its mid-February resumption, several prominent teams are initiating their preparatory measures. This includes Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, who have organized several matches in an effort to enhance their players’ fitness and sharpness.

Several of the matches in which Ronaldo and his colleagues were scheduled to compete in China subsequent to their announcement of a tour of the nation have been canceled.

Consequently, why was the China excursion of Al Nassr canceled?Given the aforementioned factors and the strong diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China, Al Nassr is prepared to carry out our scheduled training camp in Shenzhen, a city that has exhibited tremendous affection and hospitality towards our group and our commander.

“Additionally, the organizer and we have reached an agreement to schedule a rematch in the near future.” We eagerly await the opportunity to perform for our adoring Chinese supporters as soon as feasible.”

Ronaldo further elaborated on the statement, stating, “Having been a professional for 22 years, I am a player with a relatively low incidence of injuries. Therefore, I’m extremely disheartened because Al Nassr and I stated, “We have not canceled the game; rather, we intend to make every effort to return here.” As a result of the cancellation of both matches against Chinese opposition on account of Ronaldo’s fitness, there are now apprehensions that the 38-year-old may be unable to compete in the Riyadh Season Cup, a friendly tournament scheduled to commence in early February in Saudi Arabia.

This renders Ronaldo an injury doubt for Al Nassr’s February 1 match against Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, as well as their March 7 match against Al Hilal, a fellow Saudi Pro League club. The absence of the Portuguese superstar at a reunion with former rival Lionel Messi would once again profoundly dishearten the player’s supporters.

On February 14, Ronaldo and Al Nassr will return to competitive action in the AFC Champions League when they host Al Fayha.
