West Ham are considering signing midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who is seeking playing time before the Euros and is attempting to leave Manchester City.Phillips

has encountered difficulties since joining Pep Guardiola’s squad from Leeds eighteen months ago; he is reportedly under duress to secure a transfer during the current transfer window. The 28-year-old, who has yet to make a Premier League debut this season, is seeking consistent playing time in order to maintain his spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad.According to the most recent reports, West Ham United has made contact with Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The Citizens hero, who joined the club from Leeds United, has encountered difficulty in establishing consistency at the Etihad. The England international rejected transfers away at the conclusion of the previous campaign but is now seeking playing time and a renewed lease on life.

Sky Sports reports that negotiations are currently ongoing regarding West Ham’s interest in signing Phillips during the January transfer window. Throughout this transfer window, he was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle; however, his current club insisted on a £7 million loan fee. In addition to Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus, European powerhouses Crystal Palace and Atletico Madrid have all expressed interest. However, Man City have thus far demanded a fee to see him depart; however, as the transfer window draws to a close, it is possible that the club will reconsider this stance.Phillips continues to be in high demand, especially in the Premier League, and is a fixture for the England national team despite his struggles at Manchester City. The injuries to Newcastle’s midfielders have sparked their interest, but they lack the financial resources to assure a successful transfer. Although West Ham’s interest in him stems from January 2022, when David Moyes unsuccessfully attempted to acquire him from Leeds, the move was ultimately unsuccessful.

However, West Ham faces a challenge in that Phillips desires playing time and the club already has midfield options in Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Tomas Soucek, and Lucas Paqueta.
