Danny Murphy has stated that he was “surprised” by Erik ten Hag’s lack of willingness to make any adjustments to his Manchester United squad for today’s FA Cup match at Newport County.

Sunday, in the fourth round, Manchester United traveled to Wales to face a spirited Newport side and emerged victorious 4-2.

“Attasted surprise”… Danny Murphy was astounded by the performance of one Manchester United player in the FA Cup. After securing two goals in the first fifteen minutes, Erik ten Hag’s squad appeared poised to cruise to a comfortable victory. Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo both had shots on goal, and United were in control of the match prior to Newport’s comeback goal from Bryn Morris, which was a thunderbolt.

The League Two club then attempted to avert a disaster when, in the 47th minute, Will Evans equalized the situation.

Twenty minutes later, Antony regained the lead for the Red Devils, but Newport continued to pose difficulties for United.Ten Hag astonished Murphy during Manchester United’s FA Cup victory at Newport.

Murphy, commenting on BBC One’s coverage of the match, questioned Ten Hag’s Sunday afternoon reluctance to utilize his reserve.Ten Hag remained on his bench until the 81st minute, when Scott McTominay entered the game in place of Casemiro. Danny Murphy, however, was taken aback by the Dutchman’s refusal to utilize his reserve prior to that moment.Murphy stated, “The three departing [Newport] players can all be extremely proud of their performances; they’ve given their all and demonstrated that they are capable of competing.”

“I bewilderingly, Erik ten Hag has not yet implemented a few modifications of his own.”As the hosts pushed for an equalizer in the closing phases of the match, Ten Hag’s decision to delay substitutions came as a surprise. However, following the 80th minute, he did make five substitutions, including Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, and McTominay, all of whom gained minutes of experience.

Rasmus Hojlund ultimately secured the victory in stoppage time for Manchester United. It was, however, yet another lackluster performance by Ten Hag’s men.

However, United successfully prevented an upset and advanced to the fifth round. They will unquestionably be hoping to improve upon their loss to Manchester City in last year’s championship match.
