In response to rumors that Chelsea are interested in signing Jhon Duran or Callum

Wilson, Mauricio PochettinoMauricio Pochettino has refuted rumors that Chelsea is late-swooping to acquire a new striker, stating that the club is “extremely diligently” working to strengthen the squad.Due to their xG of 44.01, the west Londoners have scored just 35 times, which is nine goals less than they statistically ought to have scored. This represents the second-largest Expected Goals underperformance in the Premier League.

Armando Broja has scored only once in the league this season and appears to be extraneous to requirements, which has led to growing rumors that Chelsea are considering the acquisition of a new forward.

Jhon Duran of Aston Villa, whose game time has been constrained by the presence of Ollie Watkins and who has yet to start a league match this season, is one name in the frame. The 20-year-old, who left MLS club Chicago Fire last January for Chelsea for £18 million, is reportedly a big admirer of Chelsea’s recruitment staff, but he is not the only candidate on the Blues’ radar.Newcastle United are reportedly under duress to liquidate several high-profile players this month in order to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations. Among these players is Callum Wilson.Although Pochettino refrained from officially expressing interest in either forward, he did hint that the club remains committed to conducting business in the coming days and will provide an update as soon as a deal is finalized.

When directly questioned regarding the rumors involving Duran and Wilson and whether he intends to acquire a new striker before the transfer window closes, Pochettino responded, “Well, I believe we are hearing too many rumors, you know.”

As in other organizations, “player in, player out” applies. There is currently nothing to remark.

“We are currently working extremely hard on a variety of matters and domains, but I do not believe there is anything to communicate.”

We will remain in contact should anything occur within the following days.
