The Vikings have re-signed cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. to a three-year, $54 million contract extension, which includes a $34.78 million guarantee.

An American football player for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL), Byron Murphy Jr. was born January 18, 1998. He played football for the Washington Huskies in college.

Early life: Murphy went to Scottsdale, Arizona’s Saguaro High School. He was a wide receiver and a safety. As a senior, he caught 88 passes for 1,733 yards and 21 scores and made 52 tackles and picked off seven passes. [1] Murphy promised to play college football at the University of Washington. [2]

College life
In 2016, Murphy redshirted his first year at Washington. The next year, he played in six games and started six of them. He missed seven games because of injuries. He had 16 tackles and 3 interceptions by the end of the season. [3] [4] He went back to Washington as a starting in 2018. [6] He was awarded the MVP at the 2018 Pac-12 Football Championship Game after making two interceptions, one of which he returned for a 66-yard score. [7] On January 7, 2019, Murphy announced that he would forgo his remaining two years of eligibility and declare for the 2019 NFL draft. [8]
