Linkin Park has reignited the flames of their nu-metal legacy with the release of their powerful new single, “Unshatter.” Unveiled on April 25, 2025, the track is the second single from the upcoming deluxe edition of their 2024 comeback album, From Zero, set to drop on May 16 via Warner Records.
“Unshatter” stands as a testament to the band’s evolution, blending their signature heavy riffs and electronic elements with fresh energy. The song kicks off with a stomping groove, layered with distorted guitar crunch and kinetic production, laying the groundwork for Mike Shinoda’s distinctive rap verses. The chorus soars with the gritty and emotive vocals of new lead singer Emily Armstrong, whose performance in the bridge was described by Shinoda as a pivotal moment during the album’s creation
Originally written during the early sessions of From Zero, “Unshatter” was one of the first tracks the band developed with Armstrong. Shinoda remarked, “Emily’s huge vocal in the bridge was one of the moments that gave us an indication of what was possible together.” The song’s lyrics delve into themes of broken promises and the struggle to piece together a fractured reality, resonating with listeners navigating personal turmoil.
The deluxe edition of From Zero promises to offer fans more than just “Unshatter.” It includes previously unreleased tracks like “Up From the Bottom” and “Let You Fade,” along with exclusive live performances from the band’s recent global tour. This expanded release aims to showcase the band’s continued innovation and connection with their audience.
As Linkin Park embarks on the next leg of their world tour, fans eagerly anticipate the live debut of “Unshatter.” The band’s upcoming performances, including a highly anticipated show at London’s Wembley Stadium, are expected to feature this new anthem, further solidifying their place in the modern rock landscape.
With “Unshatter,” Linkin Park not only honors their roots but also embraces a new chapter, inviting listeners to join them on a journey of resilience and reinvention. The track is available now on all major streaming platforms, offering a glimpse into the evolved sound that defines the band’s current era.
