One of the quickest players in Europe, the 23-year-old attacker is reportedly being considered by Chelsea for a transfer.Reportedly, Chelsea are contemplating a move for Jonathan David, a striker for LOSC Lille, as the Blues have yet to acquire an attacker in January.

The west London club have prioritized the acquisition of a premier central forward this month; however, Chelsea have been unable to conduct business in recent weeks due to a lack of sales.Current reports suggest that Chelsea could ultimately make a move for a striker if Conor Gallagher were to depart; in that case, David could become a consideration for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. The Blues are among a limited number of prominent European clubs monitoring David’s situation at Lille, as the forward has been linked with moves to Aston Villa and Manchester United this month, according to Telefoot. The 23-year-old Canadian international David is one of the fastest players in Ligue 1 and beyond, according to statistics. As such, he could be an asset to Chelsea.

However, with the window still so short, the likelihood of Chelsea acquiring David remains remote, particularly if doing so would require the sale of Gallagher in the coming days.

Prior to contemplating Jonathan David, Chelsea must await the summer.Considering the volume of speculation presently swirling around Chelsea’s pursuit of a striker, the possibility of David being considered in January is hardly a shocking development.

The Lille youth is one of Europe’s most thrilling attackers, and his name has been linked to the Premier League for some time; Chelsea is the most recent club to propose pairing him with him.

However, with so little time remaining in the transfer window, the Blues must now accept that they will not be acquiring their world-class forward in January.

Consequently, Chelsea have an extended period to deliberate on their ideal signing, as David may no longer be the most compatible player with Pochettino’s approach as they approach the 2024/25 campaign.
