Four-star tight end Mikkel Skinner from Riverside High School in Greer, South Carolina, has officially committed to the Kentucky Wildcats for the 2025 recruiting class. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 220 pounds, Skinner chose Kentucky over other prominent programs such as Ohio State, Georgia, and South Carolina, after initially being committed to Cincinnati earlier in the year.
Recognized as one of the nation’s top tight end prospects, Skinner ranked as the No. 20 tight end and the No. 8 overall recruit in South Carolina. During his junior season, he demonstrated impressive versatility by catching 44 passes for 651 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also rushing for 588 yards and adding five more touchdowns on the ground.
Kentucky’s tight ends coach, Vince Marrow, played a significant role in Skinner’s recruitment, forging a strong connection that helped secure his commitment. Skinner highlighted the chance to contribute early in his college career as a major factor in his decision, expressing confidence in Kentucky’s rising program and their commitment to building something special. His addition marks an important boost for Kentucky’s 2025 class, which continues to gain momentum nationally.
