MSU Cheer receives distinction at national tournaments in Orlando.

MSU Cheer is off to a great start in 2025, fighting against the top teams in the country. MSU Cheer finished third at the International Cheer Union University World Cup Championship, advancing to the Universal Cheer Association College National Championships finals. These competitions took place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Center in Orlando, Florida.

In the UCA College National Championships, the squad competed in the D1 Small Coed Game Day Division, which consists of a three-minute routine that includes the school fight song, a situational cheer, and a timeout. MSU Cheer faced 22 collegiate teams in the preliminary round, and earned a high enough score to progress to the finals. The following evening, MSU Cheer performed another outstanding performance, finishing in 10th place and earning a trophy.

The ICU University World Cup Championship had teams from eight countries, including the United States.

MSU Cheer competed in the Small Coed Game Day Division, and the team executed flawlessly, scoring zero points for errors in their routine (fight song, situational cheer, and timeout). MSU Cheer finished third, winning bronze medals and a trophy. MSU Texas also received the best score of any NCAA Division II university in the division, establishing itself as a top-tier program on a global scale.

MSU Cheer members include Brylie Green (mascot), Abby Lee, Amanda Kearns, Chloe Whiteaker, Bella Kelleher, Elizabeth Martinez, Ellis Johnson, Gianni Latimer, Hayley Gardner, Kileigh Liggett, Kira Marksberry, McKenna Hudlin, Kylie Murray, Kynzee Jackson, Laurel Cremer, Lauren Moon, Lauren Conner, Madelyn Tate, Mia Villarreal, Peyton Hill, Presley-Ann Dutton, Rhegan Lyons, Samantha Garcia, Manny Ortiz, Jose Flores Rivera, and Landon Ellis. Danlee Duncan is the head coach, assisted by Lexi King.
