This Saturday at Thunder Valley, Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing will have a new rider under its tent for the third round of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship.
Australian Kayden Minear will make his professional début with the team in Colorado, following his 1-1 sweep at the SMX Next – Motocross Combine at Hangtown last weekend.
In the squad announcement, Minear expressed her immense gratitude for the chance to make her professional debut at Thunder Valley this weekend. “I have been diligently collaborating with the team to improve my skills, and I am confid
ent that I can compete with the professionals and achieve the desired outcomes.”
Star acquired the talented Australian from KTM last year after the then 17-year-old made a significant impression in August with a stellar first outing in the U.S., ultimately finishing runner-up overall behind Cole Davies at the Scouting Moto Combine at the Ironman Raceway. He scored a dominant first moto victory.
Minear was the Australian ProMX MX3 Champion in 2022 and finished as the runner-up in the 2024 MX2 Championship, in addition to winning numerous Australian amateur titles.
The team announced that Minear will compete in a few rounds in the professional rankings before returning to the amateur ranks to race Loretta’s later this year. Pierce Brown, Cole Davies, Daxton Bennick, Max Anstie, and Jeremy Martin are all presently unavailable for the team due to their temporary injuries.
