Last month, former Michigan State guard Tre Holloman joined the transfer portal, which startled fans.
With some of the 2024 season’s most memorable moments, Holloman cemented his place as a Spartan icon.
Perhaps the most noteworthy was when Holloman shoved two Michigan freshmen off the Spartan midcourt logo after they interrupted the Spartans’ Senior Day ritual.
Although Holloman has since transferred to NC State, his dislike for Michigan remains strong.
The former Spartan shared a shot of himself (assumedly) playing as NC State against Michigan in the College Football 25 video game. The post read, “I will forever hate Michigan.”
Last month, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo spoke to the media about Holloman’s choice to enter the portal.
“It came as somewhat of a surprise,” Izzo remarked. However, Tre had his own desires as well. Had a desire to play a specific position and to engage in particular activities. We shouldn’t be criticising Tre, and I’ve had discussions with some of you about how moms and dads get involved, leading to various outcomes. No one possesses any knowledge. And no one had truly enquired of me until today. I’m not sure if you enquired with Tre. We simply tear him apart. I found that to be quite absurd. I believe there was always much more to it.
Perhaps in the future, time will once again fulfil its role and mend the hurts that fans experienced following Holloman’s exit.
