Twin sister of 5-star Alabama rookie quarterback Kierston Russell dies.

A statement from Tuscaloosa police said that Kierston Russell, the twin sister of Alabama rookie quarterback Keelon Russell, died on Wednesday.

“At this time, her death appears to be non-criminal in nature,” the police statement said. The statement also said that Kiersten Russell’s family had given approval to confirm her death to help stop media inquiries. Thursday, police said they would not give out any more details at this time and asked that the family’s privacy be respected.

In a post that was shared on his Instagram page, Keelon Russell added four heart-shaped emojis. The message said, “My deepest condolences are with you all.” No one could ever understand how painful it would be to lose a twin sister and a daughter.

Last month, Kierston and Keelon Russell graduated from high school together in Duncanville, Texas. In August, Kierston was going to go to Alabama to be with her brother.

Keelon got into Alabama early and practiced in the spring. He was a five-star talent and the No. 2 prospect in the world over on ESPN.
