Birmingham City have officially completed the signing of Spanish winger Carlos Vicente from Deportivo Alavés, confirming their fifth addition of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old follows Kai Wagner, Jhon Solís, Ibrahim Osman and August Priske through the door at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, with Vicente putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal that runs until the summer of 2029.
Vicente arrives in the Midlands after an eye-catching spell in Spain, having scored 10 goals in all competitions this season, including five in La Liga for the Basque outfit. He also played a key role in Alavés’ 15th-place finish last campaign, registering 10 goal contributions across the season.
Blues see Vicente as a direct and quick right-sided attacker who will add depth and competition out wide, particularly following the exits of Keshi Anderson and Lewis Koumas, while also providing an alternative to Patrick Roberts.
The transfer fee is believed to be in the region of £7million before add-ons, placing the deal among the most expensive in Birmingham City’s history.
Vicente could be in line to make his first appearance for the club this weekend when Blues travel to face Oxford United in the Championship at the Kassam Stadium.
