Mohamed Salah updates his Instagram following an overnight workout in preparation for Liverpool vs. Burnley.

What Liverpool might have accomplished on Sunday at the Emirates with Mohamed Salah.

In January, the Reds traveled to North London and emerged victorious without Mohamed Salah. Indeed, five of the six games the Egyptian has been absent from since New Year’s Day have been won, with the other being a draw. The match from last weekend, however, was an excessive amount. In the absence of Mo and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool struggled to muster any momentum in their 3-1 loss to Arsenal.

The encounter will have heightened the reds’ supporters’ anticipation for Salah’s prompt return to the field. Fortunately, the 31-year-old posted an update to his Instagram stories last night, which indicates that the wait shouldn’t be too lengthy.

In a series of photographs that Salah appears to be taking at his private gym, he appears to be in satisfactory health as he stretches to touch both toes in a “splits” position. We find the hamstring to be in good condition. With Saturday’s matchup between Liverpool and Burnley remaining four days away, this could be a positive portent.

Salah appeared supple.

Obviously, the current state of Salah’s fitness cannot be determined with certainty from a few private gym photographs. However, this bodes well for Mo’s participation in training this week.

Similar to how they did in 2022, Liverpool all but allayed concerns in January that their attempt to complete a quartette would fail in the absence of their No. 11.However, everything appeared to slightly catch up with the Reds on Sunday. Nunez’s absence was also a significant factor in that. The two have scored a combined 29 goals for Liverpool this season; Jurgen Klopp could not have missed that at the Emirates.

Respectfully, the match against Burnley this coming weekend does not appear to be quite as taxing. There is essentially no reason to hurry Mo back for this one if he is not prepared. However, despite this, Liverpool must recover exceptionally swiftly. The fact that they must wait an entire week to expel the lingering specters of the Arsenal match is a source of frustration. At Anfield, they will presumably be fully operational.Given the Clarets’ predicament in the relegation zone, Liverpool should easily overcome them in any case. However, if Mo is healthy enough to earn a spot in the squad, it will provide an additional lift for the Reds.

Despite his absence, Mohamed Salah has maintained his lead over Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot in the Premier League. Despite Haaland being largely sidelined with injury, the duo remain tied atop the charts with 14 goals each. Knowing Mo, he will be eager to add to that immediately upon his return. Burnley could provide an excellent opportunity to accomplish that.

We shall await further encouraging developments throughout the course of the training week.
