Smith is classified as a four-star prospect, ranked 96th nationally, ninth among safeties in his class, and tenth in the state of Georgia, according to composite rankings.

The situation commenced with rumors around Brady Marchese’s potential transfer to Michigan. He thereafter declared his commitment to Georgia. Fitzpatrick was scheduled for an official visit to Ohio State but subsequently canceled it and terminated his recruitment process. Smith has similarly canceled his official visits.
