Arsenal signed a £60 million deal for a South American great player last night. The player signed a 4-year deal with the club, and his

medical is scheduled for today. It is said that Arsenal has been offered the chance to sign Karim Benzema but is instead thinking about a move for a flexible defender.Since Benzema has only been with Al-Ittihad for a little over a year, he wants to leave, and several teams in Europe have made offers to the striker.

Arsenal, on the other hand, wanted to get a new striker during the January transfer window. However, they haven’t been able to get their ideal candidate this month because of worries about Financial Fair Play.

MailOnline says that Arsenal was offered Benzema earlier this month. However, the Gunners are still deciding whether to sign a “versatile defender” before next Wednesday, which is the transfer deadline. The story also says that Jurrien Timber is still making good progress after hurting his cruciate ligament in August. Arsenal is hoping that the £38 million player they signed from Ajax will be able to play in the last two months of the season.

In other news, Benzema is thought to be in talks about going back to Lyon.

The 36-year-old came up through Lyon’s youth program and became one of the best young players in Europe while playing for the French club. In 2009, he moved to Real Madrid.

He agreed to play for Al-Ittihad for three years at a cost of €100 million (£85.5 million) per season in June of last year.

In France last week, it was said that the Saudi club was “furious” with Benzema for not coming back to training 17 days after his vacation in Mauritius.

“Bernie arrived Thursday night, 17 days late.” A person close to the club told AFP, “He should have come back on January 2.”

“For 10 days, we couldn’t get in touch with him.” The boss and the people who run the club are very angry about what happened.

“The club board will meet to talk about what happened and figure out what will happen next.”
