Liverpool is currently trying to finalize the $43.3 million signing of the Ecuadorian defender.Liverpool poured a lot of money into strengthening their midfield during the summer transfer window, but they neglected their shaky defense.

The Reds did not take any action about Piero Hincapie, a candidate for the team. Signing in January is still up in the air as they finalize their discussions.

The well-known German news agency Bild broke the story in August, stating that Jürgen Klopp wants the South American to strengthen Liverpool’s defense.

His agent Manuel Sierra acknowledged the Merseysiders’ interest. According to Bolavip, the agency had a conversation with Joaquin Saavedra about Futbol Sin Casette.Although Liverpool considered signing him, they ultimately decided to invest in the midfield instead. It would be at least fifty million euros, or forty-three million pounds, as they said in January.

When Xabi Alonso’s squad finished sixth in the Bundesliga last season, the Ecuadorian was an integral part of the squad.

He was suspended for the first three games of the season, but that didn’t stop him from missing the coaches’ league.

On Thursday night, Hincapie made his season debut in a 2-1 Europa League triumph over Molde. Liverpool has depended heavily on offensive play from the defense this season, but they have only managed two clean sheets in their first ten games.

It is imperative that the defense be fortified during the January transfer window. Is £43.3 million enough for the Reds to recruit Hincapie?
