Together with the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, the Atlanta Falcons are giving funding to 10 high schools across the state. Set up new flag football teams for girls for the 2025 season with the money.
These are the recipients:
Alabama Christian School
American Christian School
High School in Athens
High School in Chickasaw
The high school in Elmore County
We are I3 Academy High School
South Linden High School
High School in Saraland
High School St. John Paul II
High School in Talladega
With these new schools, the AHSAA will have more than 130 teams participating.
Alabama flag football has grown thanks in large part to the work of the foundation and the Falcons group. In 2021, they helped start a trial program that led to Alabama becoming the eighth state to make girls’ flag football an official high school sport by 2024.
A flag football workshop was also held by the Falcons not long ago at Legion Field in Birmingham.
